What is calcined kaolin?
Calcined kaolin is hydrous kaolin heated to roughly 650–1100 °C to remove combined water. Buyers choose it for higher dry whiteness, higher oil absorption, hardness and TiO₂ spacing in architectural and industrial paints, plastics and cable compounds.
- Higher whiteness vs many hydrous grades
- Controlled oil absorption and D50 for paint/plastics
- Low grit for smooth films and compounds
- Pairs with our filler grade Spec Builder presets
